Bridge Experience
Over the past 65 years, CDC has undertaken the demolition of more than 150 bridges on both the UK’s roads and railways.
The structures have included overbridges, underbridges, footbridges and viaducts as well as roadside structures such as gantries. CDC has previously demolished the A127 Bell Junction Southend bridge for Eurovia, Cock Lane footbridge and Werrington footbridge over the East Coast Mainline for Morgan Sindall and four road bridges and gantries over the A13 at Orsett for Kier.
CDC’s Transformative Role in the HS2 Project
For the past 18 months, CDC has been working on the prestigious HS2 project. CDC was contracted by EKFB to demolish multiple agricultural buildings, commercial and residential units as well as rail and road bridges to accommodate Britain’s new high speed rail line.
Specific works included soft strip, demolition, remediation, asbestos removal, bat mitigation works, temporary works and scaffolding.
