From Site to Finish Line: Jason Clarke Completes IRONMAN 70.3
We would like to congratulate Tru7 Group Lead Operator Jason Clarke on completing his first ever IRONMAN 70.3in Weymouth last weekend.
After nine months of training, preparation and commitment, Jason crossed the finish line with an official time of 5:53:39, completing one of endurance sport’s most demanding challenges.
What is an IRONMAN 70.3?
An IRONMAN 70.3 is a long-distance triathlon made up of three disciplines completed consecutively:
- 1.9km swim
- 90km bike ride
- 21.1km half marathon
Together, the three sections total 70.3 miles, giving the event its name.
Completing an IRONMAN 70.3 requires far more than simply turning up on race day. Months of structured training, recovery, nutrition and preparation are needed to build the endurance required to complete all three disciplines back-to-back.
For Jason, that preparation involved balancing training around his role at Tru7, with early mornings, long sessions and plenty of challenging days along the way.

Nine Months of Preparation
Reflecting on the achievement, Jason said:
“9 months of hard work, dedication, discipline, early mornings, long sessions, tired legs and plenty of moments where my motivation was tested was all for one goal… to complete my first Ironman 70.3. Crossing that finish line made every mile, every sacrifice and every tough day worth it.”
Jason completed the event with the following times:
1.9km Swim: 45:40
90km Bike: 2:54
21.1km Run: 1:59
Official Finish Time: 5:53:39
Reaching the finish line in under six hours is a fantastic achievement, particularly for a first IRONMAN 70.3.
Commitment On and Off Site
As one of Tru7 Group’s Lead Operators, Jason is accustomed to working in demanding environments where preparation, focus and consistency are essential.
Those same qualities clearly played an important part in his training and preparation for Weymouth.
We are always pleased to recognise the achievements of our people outside of the workplace, whether through sport, charity, community involvement or personal milestones.
Jason’s accomplishment is a great example of the determination and discipline demonstrated by people throughout Tru7 Group.
From everyone across Tru7 Group, congratulations Jason on completing your first IRONMAN 70.3 — an outstanding achievement and one you can be extremely proud of.
