Operator Profile: Lewis Bishop
By Marc TRU7 | 21 April 2026
From Quick-Shifters to Muck-Shifting
From Wilby in Suffolk to some of the county’s biggest construction projects, Lewis Bishop’s journey to Tru7 Group is anything but ordinary. He joined the business just over a year ago and in that time has become a valued, hard working member of the team, bringing energy, ambition and genuine pride to every job he takes on.
Lewis has been operating on a number of high profile projects across Suffolk since joining the group. For him, the work carries real meaning.
“You really feel like you’re part of something important, even more so because they’re our local projects. I’ve lived around this area my whole life, so it does mean a lot to me.”
That sense of pride is matched by a career path built on graft, resilience and a hunger to keep moving forward.

A Career Built on Hard Work and Momentum
Lewis’ working life started early. School holidays meant earning his keep, learning the value of hard work from his parents, and understanding that if you want something, you go out and get it. That mindset has shaped every step since.
He began as a builder’s labourer, first in the UK, then in France, before returning home at 18 to move into plant operating with Collins Skip Hire. From there, he pushed himself into the office side of the business, gained his Class 1 and 2 HGV licences, and kept looking for the next challenge.
That drive eventually took him somewhere completely different: a dream role as a motoring journalist for Motor Cycle News, RiDE and Bike magazine under Bauer Media. Road testing motorcycles and writing about them was something he had imagined since his teens, and he made it happen through sheer determination.
Redundancy brought that chapter to an end, but not the passion; he still writes freelance today.

Finding His Place at Tru7
Returning to the construction industry, Lewis joined Tru7 Group and quickly found the momentum he thrives on.
“It’s opened more doors than I thought it ever could. I’ve gained more qualifications very quickly and I’m moving forward exactly as I want to.”
For Lewis, Tru7 has become the place where his work ethic, ambition and local pride all come together. He is progressing fast, proving himself on every job, and contributing to projects that shape the communities he grew up in.
“What You See Is What You Get”
Lewis describes himself simply: honest, driven and always pushing for more, whether that’s in his career, his future plans or the goals he sets for himself.
It’s exactly the kind of attitude that fits the Tru7 culture. People who work hard, back themselves and take pride in doing things properly.
A Valued Member of the Team
In just over a year, Lewis has shown what is possible when talent meets opportunity. His story is one of progression, passion and local pride, and we are proud to have him as part of the Tru7 team.
Here’s to the next chapter, Lewis. Keep pushing forward.
